Director, Product Management
Robin is well versed in managing strategic language access planning in healthcare and meeting regulatory compliance. On the Product team, she serves as a Subject Matter Expert and seeks to enhance Cloudbreak’s language services offerings to provide an optimal experience for our partners. Robin brings over twenty years of expertise in cross-cultural communications, is proficient in six languages and holds an MA in Translation and Interpretation from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.
Chief Executive Officer
Prior to LAN & Carenection, Jamey was the CEO of Emergent Medical Associates. During his tenure, EMA grew into the leading multi-specialty group in the southwest US. He remains with EMA as a Board Member. He is also Board Member for Santa Monica Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Young President’s Organization & a Mentor at the LA Incubator Start Engine. Jamey has been a 3x Honoree for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and a 2x Honoree for the LABJ Healthcare Leadership Awards. Jamey is also a proud member of the #PinkSocks Tribe of healthcare innovators, working to disrupt healthcare from the ground up and drive positive change for patients and providers. He received his MBA from Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management.

Ed is has twenty-five years of success, assisting leading-edge, globally-aligned organizations in achieving optimal operating and profit generating status through technological identification, implementation, and utilization. His career is marked by the ability to identify and adapt new technologies and operational processes to gain the competitive edge and eclipse the competition. He is an extremely flexible hands-on leader comfortable with technology and possessing ability to anticipate new applications for existing software and hardware.
Executive Vice President, Partnerships
With three decades of expertise in the health technology, informatics and biotech industries, Eric’s thought leadership and deep experience in building strategic partnership teams are a great asset as we expand our unified telemedicine offerings to new use cases to better serve our existing and future clients. He has devoted his career to creating a healthcare system in which consumers of care and frontline clinicians are empowered to work more collaboratively and efficiently to improve healthcare outcomes. Eric’s role at Cloudbreak is leading the growth of the business by establishing new and expanded client partnerships, predicated on delivering a positive ROI to Cloudbreak’s ever-growing list of clients.
Eric previously served as the Chief of Digital Partnerships at Providence St. Joseph Health where he established and led sales and marketing for telehealth, formerly within the Digital Innovation Group. He has also served as General Manager of NexJ Health, and prior to that as Chief Executive Officer of EMIS Inc., as well as having held several multi-national leadership roles at Carefx Corporation, Eclipsys Corporation and Molecular Diagnostics, Inc.
Chief Financial Officer
William has over 22 years experience in healthcare, IT, and financial institutions, including sourcing and placing over $2 billion of equity and debt capital as well as the growth and sales of 3 startup enterprises. His entire career has been centered around creating operational efficiencies through technology, designing and improving pricing and contract strategies, strategically positioning companies for growth and capital investment, and managing, structuring and negotiating complex financial relationships.William has been registered with the National Association of Securities Dealers in good standing and has held Series 7, 63, and 24 licenses.
Bruce Hensel, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Bruce Hensel is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCLA, has been the Chief Medical Correspondent for NBC in New York and Los Angeles, and is a founder of The Congressional Internet Ethics Committee. Dr. Hensel joined us seven years ago after reporting on their groundbreaking video remote interpretation (VRI) service at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York. Dr. Hensel has received 12 Emmys and 2 Golden Mikes for writing, producing, investigating and hosting reports and shows on the latest innovations in healthcare.
Vice President, Partner Engagement
Kristen leads the Partner Engagement Team, directly managing the team that supports current Cloudbreak partners, and ensuring the organization continues to deliver the services leading to exceptional care and communication with all of their patients and staff.
Having managed multiple communications initiatives within several large healthcare organizations, Kristen brings the first-hand experience in understanding what our partners face on a day to day basis. Kristen and her team of Partner Engagement Managers are passionate about becoming truly valued partners with our clients, identifying solutions to the communication barriers encountered in our client’s organizations, driving efficiency and innovation, and providing an extraordinary level of service to our partners.
Having grown up in Honduras, the son of a political activist, Kerry is inspired to make a difference in the lives of all our employees, and ultimately in the lives of non-English speaking individuals. He makes a difference in the lives of staff by incorporating his compassion for people by building truly human-centered, stable, sustainable processes. And as a Six Sigma Professional, Kerry has a track record of finding opportunities that make an immediate, dramatic impact on quality, service, and performance. He has the ability build team cohesiveness by promoting cultural sensitivity and establishing connections with people of diverse backgrounds.
Chief Operations Officer
Andy’s innovative leadership of our management team and his creative sales initiatives fueled the rapid growth of Cloudbreak into more than 650 hospitals. After his brother was tragically injured on vacation, Andy was inspired to help the millions of patients in the U.S. who face a language barrier in a healthcare setting. Andy’s experience in operations, business development, and national marketing strategy stems from serving as partner/owner of a creative marketing firm. Andy earned his B.A. from Montana State University.
Manager, Quality Assurance
Paloma Peña, MSW, LSW, CHI has over ten years of experience in healthcare and where she provides leadership in quality assurance and quality improvement. Paloma has previously worked as a clinical social worker in pediatrics, specializing in Endocrinology and Emergency Medicine and brings over eight years of experience in healthcare interpreting, including interpreter training and professional development. She currently serves as board secretary for La Clinica Latina, a nonprofit organization serving the Hispanic community, and is a member of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Family Advisory Council. Paloma is very passionate about achieving health equity and improving healthcare quality. She is a member of the American Society for Quality and received her Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University.
Erika Shell Castro
Director of Interpreter Services
Erika Shell Castro has worked in Language Services for the last 19 years as an interpreter, trainer, and leader in building language services. She was hired at OhioHealth in 2000 to build their Language Services Department where she managed a team of 24 interpreters and contracts with 10 agencies and vendors. She was recruited in 2006 to work at Language Access Network, now Martti, to serve as Director of Interpreter Services. She has built the Language Services division including Quality Assurance and Training Departments and is responsible for 6 Centers of Excellence across the country.
Erika is a licensed trainer for The Community Interpreter and has trained over 1,000 interpreters. Her passion for language access and healthcare equity was ignited when she immigrated with her husband to the US after serving as an International Partner for Habitat for Humanity in Guatemala. She witnessed firsthand her husband’s struggle as a new immigrant who did not speak English, which inspired her to help start two non-profits serving the Latino immigrant community of Central Ohio. Latino Empowerment and Outreach Network and La Clinica Latina, a free health clinic at The Ohio State University Medical Center where she currently serves as board president. Erika was named the National Council of Interpreters in Healthcare 2016 Language Access Champion.

Dan is a bold healthcare executive with deep experience developing strategies, building operations, and leading organizations to succeed. He has more than 25 years of diversified learnings across the healthcare industry in Product Development, Product Management, Strategy, and Operations, with an excellent track record of building exceptional teams and solving difficult problems to achieve objectives. Dan has been inspired by people struggling with health issues to bring a servant-leadership model to change health care. Dan earned his MBA in Strategy, Operations and Entrepreneurship from Cornell University.
Human Resources Director
Michelle Batt, SHRM-CP, PHR has over 11 years of experience in strategically focused human resources management and engagement, specializing in the healthcare industry for most of her career. She joined Cloudbreak in May 2016 as HR Director with the task of building an HR department and team. Michelle has been successful in bringing HR to Cloudbreak as well as working alongside leaders to develop processes and engagement best suited for the Cloudbreak family. Michelle received her Master’s in Human Resources Management from Keller Graduate School of Management in 2006 and has been SHRM-CP/PHR certified since 2009.
